This is a journey into your unconscious mind – the place where you hold all your beliefs, thoughts and feelings about birth and labour. We visit this place. Where necessary, we do some weeding out of any thoughts and feelings about labour that aren’t totally useful in helping you to have the best birth possible.
Elite athletes do it and it is really helpful for pregnant women to do it too! That is to visualise the outcome that you want and hope for. We go through your labour and birth just as you want it… and how you are in it too. This gives your unconscious mind a chance to get ready, prepare and rehearse. This allows all of you to work together and gives you the best possible chance to have the best possible outcome.
Have these going as you go for a walk, do the dishes or wherever you fancy. This is filled with positive affirmations for you to use both before and during your labour. There is also guidance in how to listen to the affirmations so that you think, feel and visualise to make them the most effective.
Birth partners are a really important part of the labour day and can effect the outcome of the experience of your labour – in both a positive and negative way. This visualisation is for all birth partners who are committed to making their presence in the labour room the very best they can.
